The Horseshoe Trail Road Bridge start date has been pushed back and is scheduled to start October 7, 2019 (weather dependent).


West Cocalico Township is seeking a full-time Road Crew member in the Public Works Department.

This position reports to the Roadmaster and works 40 hours per week with some overtime and on-call hours. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: performing construction and various asphalt repairs on Township roads, shoveling and plowing snow, salting streets, assisting in maintaining roadways and green spaces,  monitoring of the water system, tree trimming, operating pickup truck, dump truck, backhoe/loader, mowers, chain saw and other equipment as assigned. Experience required in road/asphalt construction and maintenance work, ability to legally operate motor vehicles and commercial vehicles, ability to work outdoors in all types of extreme weather conditions. The successful applicant will have a valid CDL. Snow plow experience and/or water operating license or experience preferred. Building construction or mechanical training is a plus. Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and must have the ability to deal tactfully with the public and other employees. Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Must have a valid PA Drivers License.

Stop the Spread

When you travel in and out of the quarantine zone, check your car and outdoor equipment (grills, outdoor furniture, landscaping supplies, mowers, etc.). Check for SLF egg masses from late fall to early spring. Remember that egg masses may be underneath your car or in your wheel well. During all other times of the year, check for nymphs and adults, and keep your windows rolled up when you park. Don’t store things or park under infested trees, and don’t move firewood.
